The Popular Show Season Four Introduces the Fighters Group

Since the launch of Campaign 4, fresh DM the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of characters, and a thrilling plot including divine entities, fiends, and malevolent powers growing in power within the city.

Warning: Spoilers for the latest installment of the new season are included.

The Warrior Group Unveiled

The third episode finished on a dramatic pause and presented the premier party of heroes who will branch out from the central cast to embark on their own adventure, separate from the other two tables.

The Soldiers table features Teor (played by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).

Why Split the Party?

Considering 13 cast members, it was obvious from the outset that having everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.

Hence, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Introduction, connecting the personal journeys before splitting into three separate parties: Fighters, Planners, and Seekers.

The Nature of the Soldiers Table

Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for players who prefer a classically intense battle-oriented story mode where non-violent answers are scarce.

At first glance, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might appear unsuited, but the actions of the third episode make it clear why these particular heroes are best suited for the Soldiers table.

Why They Must Go

First, the team understands precisely where to go next after a intense opening clash with the antagonists.

An old friend of Thjazi—whose demise started the story’s plot—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his own means, entering the hidden lair, attacking Thimble, and taking all the enchanted items to sell off.

Casimir then paid off his liabilities and fled to a fortified location in the northern region, north of the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.

Personal Motivations

Additionally, each member has a personal reason to depart the metropolitan area:

  • Thimble, as the companion and closest confidant, seeks revenge.
  • The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the region and cautions that it is a hostile environment.
  • The strong character and Wicander, having disobeyed his house’s orders to kill the target and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
  • But, their status as important members in the powerful family could assist the group enter areas they usually can’t.
  • Furthermore, The fighter swore a life debt to The cleric for his deliverance and will now go with him everywhere.

Pursued by Authorities

Lastly, all of them are hunted by the rulers that govern the setting for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city no longer safe:

  • The agile adventurer and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
  • The warrior and The cleric defied the influential house and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
  • The fighter is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.

This leaves them little choice but to travel to the remote area in pursuit of the antagonist.

What’s Next?

According to the latest episode’s follow-up content, we discover that the Soldiers table will not appear next week, leaving the remaining eight players to assemble the Explorers and Planners groups.

Viewers can expect finding out which characters will be assigned to which table in the story’s last Overture episode, available to watch on the upcoming Thursday.
