Thousands Lost Power in South-East Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Severe Storms
Approximately 25,000 residences in southeastern Queensland woke up experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after severe thunderstorms impacted the state, generating strong winds hitting over 100 km/h.
Large Hailstones and Broad Damage
Locals observed large ice chunks reaching sizes of 7cm in some areas. Meteorological experts announced that different parts across the state had been hit with significant hail.

Response teams were focused on reestablishing energy supply throughout the affected regions, with dozens of response units working to handle the extensive power failures.
Victorian Storm Challenges
At the same time, approximately 1,000 households in the southern state also encountered electricity disruptions after Melbourne recorded its wettest day in a year and a half.
Rescue organizations received over five hundred calls for help across the region, primarily for property damage but also for collapsed vegetation and inundation.

- Wyndham - nearly 180 emergency requests
At one point on Sunday, in excess of twenty-eight thousand energy customers in Victoria were experiencing outages.
Climate Outlook
Humid circumstances were predicted to continue along significant areas of the state's eastern regions this week as a atmospheric system continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.
The following day was predicted as the heaviest precipitation period, with ongoing storm activity anticipated across different parts of both areas.
Health Warning
Public health experts warned that there was an increased chance of weather-related respiratory issues across the countryside regions, especially given the ongoing climate situation.
This caution comes after past events where similar conditions led to significant health impacts in the area.
